What is ParentsNext? 
The Australian Government has provided funding to community service organisations to work with you to help identify your education and employment goals, develop a pathway to achieve these goals and link you to activities and services in your local community.

What can you expect from us - your ParentsNext provider
During your first meeting with your caseworker, an initial assessment will be conducted. This assessment will take place at either Lentara’s Broadmeadows Office or our satellite office located at the Connections at Craigieburn Community Hub.

Our work with you will include:
•      Identification of your goals and aspirations;
•      Together we will develop a plan relating to you. This plan will include building your skills, undertaking training and gaining employment. This plan will also include strategies to address any issues you are currently experiencing;
•      We will assist you to access and participate in training and education, workshops, mentoring opportunities or language and literacy activities in order to support the achievement of your long term goals;
•      We will also assist you with job preparation and interview;
•      We are well connected to other support services in Hume. When appropriate, we  will refer you and your family to more specialised support services for assistance; 
•      We will assist you with funding to access training and education, purchase of work clothes and travel assistance;  
•      We will assist you to explore and source childcare opportunities and provide you with information on childcare fee assistance; and
•      We will support you to maintain appropriate participation and provide you with feedback during your time in the ParentsNext project activities.

Follow up contacts
•      Following on from the initial assessment interview, we will aim to meet with you face to face every three months;
•      Email and telephone contact can also occur outside of these sessions; and
•      A home visiting outreach service will also be available on a case by case basis.

You are eligible if:
•      Your youngest child is aged five years or under;
•      You have not been in paid employment for the last six months; and
•      Residing in Hume.

Indigenous and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Community Access 
We, at Lentara are committed to provide culturally responsive services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in Hume and communities from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds. We can arrange for an interpreter to assist you when discussing your needs and arrange for our documents to be translated to ensure your understand the process.

•      By participating in Lentara’s ParentsNext Participant Reference Group which meets quarterly. If you are interested in this please speak with your support worker; and
